The Clermont Club is one of the oldest Gentlemen’s Country Clubs in Queensland, being established in 1887. First building on the left looking west along Drummond Street.

It was originally situated on Drummond Street on the flat.  Following the 1916 flood the Club was relocated to 46 Sirius Street.

It operated as a gentlemen’s club for many years.  Members were elected by a ballot of existing members and women were NOT allowed inside.

In the early 60s the Ladies Annexe was constructed where gentlemen could entertain ladies.

Later again the barriers were removed entirely and women were welcomed into the club and have been accepted as members.

A History of the Club was published for the Centenary.

The introduction of drink driving penalties and competition from the other hotels caused the Club committee to reassess the use of the building.

Leased to Bellas on Capella.

Currently leased to Lotta Latte’s.
